Dr. Gildersleeve

Dr. Steve Gildersleeve was born and raised in the small community of O'Neill Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln with a degree in Biological Sciences and then went on to complete optometry school at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA where he graduated Magna Cum Laude near the top of his class.

While at SCCO he was recognized as best in his class in both primary care and ocular disease diagnosis and management. He also scored in the top 1% in the nation on the national board parts 1 and 2 leading his class in both.

Dr. Gildersleeve recently completed a hospital-based residency in ocular disease diagnosis and management at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM, dealing with an extremely difficult and complex patient-base.

In his young career he has given multiple lecture hours of continued education to fellow optometrist and is already very well respected among his peers. Dr. Gildersleeve also lectures with KMK Educational Services, a company geared towards preparing 3rd year optometry students to take and pass the national boards.

He and his family have been very close friends of the Powell's dating back many years. Dr. Gildersleeve is a 3rd generation optometrist and is extremely excited to return to Lincoln and join Dr. Powell's practice.
